Daniel Oren, Conductor

Daniel Oren was born in Israel. His international career began in 1975 when he won the first Herbert von Karajan award. These days he conducts regularly in all leading opera houses around the world, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Arena di Verona, the Vienna Staatsoper and the opera houses of Paris, Rome, Trieste, Naples, Genoa, Florence, Parma, Turin, Venice, Buenos Aires, San Francisco, Washington and many others.

Daniel Oren developed his particular interest in opera with the help of the great Leonard Bernstein who, in 1968, chose him, when he was just thirteen years old, to sing the solo part in his Chichester's Psalms, on the occasion of the inauguration of Israeli Television.

Oren combines his predilection for opera with a repertoire which embraces the most important Italian romantic and verismo periods, to his passion for symphonic music for which he has obtained great success conducting many important orchestras such as the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Orchestra of the Teatro Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Munich Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and the  orchestras of Koln, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Berlin as well as many others.

Daniel Oren conducted Nabucco at the New Israeli Opera in December 1994 as well as in many international leading opera houses.
